Requesting a reset
Use "Forgot password" on the sign-in page. Roundly responds the same way whether or not an account exists at that address, so the response never reveals who has an account.
Using the link
Reset links are single-use and expire after 30 minutes. Requesting a new one replaces the previous link immediately.
What changes when you reset
Completing a reset signs out every other session on the account. If you did not request the reset, nothing changes until the link is used, and you can ignore the email.
Accounts without a password
If you only ever signed in with Google or LinkedIn, the same flow sets a password for the first time.
